Coco Rocha for Burt’s Bees Lipstick

Burt’s Bees offers reliable, well-priced skincare products, one of my favorites being the Hand Salve that I reviewed here. But the brand’s image has always been, well, granola.

That all changed when Burt’s Bees recently announced supermodel Coco Rocha as the face of it’s latest launch: an all-natural lipstick. Formulated with 100% natural ingredients, including moringa oil, raspberry seed oil and vitamin E, it’s the company's first lipstick and comes in 14 different shades ranging from versatile nudes to bold, bright reds. Even the packaging is eco-friendly and made from recycled materials.

For the clean beauty industry, this is a major win. Rocha is as high-profile and glam as they come. She’s a 10-year fashion industry veteran who has walked countless runways and graced multiple Vogue covers, and even written her own book on posing. By choosing Rocha as the face of it’s lipstick, Burt’s Bees is making a clear statement that clean beauty isn’t just about safe ingredients: it actually performs just as well and makes you feel just as glamorous as mass-market makeup.

And I love how Coco describes what drew her to the partnership:
"I recently became a mother and now I find myself more concerned about what I put on my body, and on hers [her daughter], and also how we are leaving this world for the next generation. It was nice to find a brand who felt the same way.”

As a mom whose kids used to eat my lipstick, I applaud this celeb endorsement!
