Vapour Organic Beauty Atmosphere Luminous Foundation

The Atmosphere Luminous is Vapour’s foundation-in-a-stick. It’s super convenient for storing in your purse or in your desk for on-the-go touch-ups.

Like the Soft Focus Foundation I reviewed here, the Luminous is a moisture-rich formula suitable for dry, normal and combination skin. Vapour has created a foundation that doubles as skin food, with a wealth of organic ingredients that nourish your skin while evening out your complexion.  Organic sunflower and castor seed oils hydrate the skin, tomato fruit extract and vitamin E deliver a dose of antioxidants, and mineral pigments brighten skin tone. Vapour has also developed a proprietary “Herbal Enlightenment Complex”: an infusion of Frankincense, Tulsi and Lotus to help soothe, calm and protect. Which is great if you have sensitive skin or skin that likes to give you red patches for no reason (that would be me).

So every time I use it, I feel good that not only am I covering up imperfections but making my skin look better too.

The coverage is medium, as compared to the light-to-medium coverage provided by the Soft Focus. It creates a slightly more matte finish than the Soft Focus, while still giving skin a radiance - Vapour's signature “Lit from Within Glow”. Because of its greater coverage and more matte finish, I like to use the Luminous as under-eye concealer.

Bonus perk: As with virtually all non-toxic cosmetics, Vapour products are sold in select boutiques and not widely available. So the easiest way to purchase is online, either through Vapour’s website or from online natural beauty retailers. And Vapour understands how daunting it is to choose makeup shades without the benefit of testing them in person, so they provide an excellent sample program. For $15, you can order up to 5 samples of Vapour products. Online retailers carrying Vapour products also offer a sample program, although the cost varies. There is also an extensive shade guide on the Vapour website (under the “Samples” heading) to help you decide which colors are right for you. I really appreciate that the folks at Vapour don’t want you to invest in a full-size product that turns out to be the wrong shade for your skin. Because, when you’re a busy mama/working woman, who has time to return product?
